I have worked with Dr. James Smalley in Fiji in 1910-1911 and have known him since that date. He has done, andis doing, a very great deal of valuable surgery, in which he has helped me very considerably in my work. His range of knowledge of medicine and surgery in general is a very wide one and I suld should consider that he would be a valuable asset to any community which secures his services. He has a very genuine enthusiasm for scientific work and has a very considerable influence in stimulating others.
